GR5 / Crossing the Massif des Vosges

430 km walking route!

The crossing of the Massif des Vosges by foot, with its 430 km, is the first national Route to be labelled at European level: Leading Quality Trails – best of Europe!

Fully marked by the Club Vosgien over its entire length with red rectangles, it crosses the Massif des Vosges from north to south.

North in Wissembourg, it runs through the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park to reach the southern Vosges and cross the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park.

A route that leads you to the unmissable sites of our territory: The Markstein, the Grand Ballon, the Hartmannswillerkopf / Vieil Armand, the Ruins of the Engelbourg’s Castle, the St Theobald’s Church and the Staufen Cross… Not to forget the unavoidable gastronomic appointments on our peaks with the inns and farm-inns!

The 19 proposed stages can be achieved in their entirety or by section.
