The Southern Gateway to the Alsace Wine Route

Located at the southern end of the Alsatian vineyard and renowned for its Grand Cru Rangen, the town of Thann is the Southern Gateway to the Alsace Wine Route. This route runs through the region for over 170 km across the plain and the many flowery Alsatian villages to reach Marlenheim in the north. Thann, the Southern Gateway to the Alsace Wine Route, enjoys a wine-growing tradition thanks to the famous Rangen vineyard, entirely classified as Grand Cru. Nestled at the foot of the Vosges foothills, the town welcomes you in a warm urban setting, which invites you to take a stroll. The old town unfolds around the Saint-Thiébaut Collegiate Church, a jewel of Gothic architecture and at the foot of the ruins of the Château de l'Engelbourg. Three routes, marked by 19 educational panels, allow you to discover the southernmost vineyard in Alsace, the Rangen.
