Trail Best Practices
A range of routes for everyone and for all runners from beginners to seasoned athletes. One of the particularities of trail running is the difference in altitude and the more or less uneven nature of the course. Running is done almost exclusively on trails in the countryside. In the Vosges, people run all year round, in summer or in winter on certain routes: the white trail.
To each his own practice : trail hiking for those who prefer to walk and run as they please, trail workshop to test yourself with friends or learn "the terrain" or link up ultra trail routes for those who want to prepare for competitions.
Equipment :
- Shoes with relief and one size larger than normal for comfort on descents with good suitable socks and gaiters for wet days.
- Light and breathable top with a light windproof jacket or rain jacket, or even a fleece, all as light as possible without forgetting the cap or hat depending on the season and gloves or even a neck warmer
- Stretch fabric bottoms, shorts, capri pants, leggings depending on the temperature
- Lightweight, body-hugging bag that includes water and food supplies, a survival blanket and first aid kit.
- A smartphone or GPS watch will complete the equipment, as will a map and technical sheet of the circuit and emergency numbers.
Health walking discipline:
Walking is unique to humans. Walking promotes physical and psychological well-being, which is key to health at all ages. The routes have been selected to promote the practice of Nordic walking, mindful walking and health through walking. You can practice Afghan walking by synchronizing your breathing with your steps or tree therapy where you hug the trunks to capture their energy. Our trails invite you to awaken your senses, your awareness. Walk alone, in small groups, with your family and at your own pace, listen, breathe, smell, touch, let your mind wander along the water, in the forests, on the grass of the meadows at the foot of the Vosges mountains. These routes are accessible all year round and reveal different and new faces throughout the seasons.
Equipment :
Hiking equipment is essential, including Nordic walking poles. You can also bring a few simple accessories to develop your mindfulness: a small floor mat, binoculars, sandals for rivers, a small bag for treasure hunting, something to write with, paint with,
